Diet and Nutrition

Achieving optimum health requires a truly holistic approach, and so diet plays a very important role. What you eat affects your weight, energy levels, sleeping patterns and general feeling of well-being. Changing your diet along side following an exercise programme and receiving a course of treatments will help to increase and consolidate all of the benefits, thereby helping the client to achieve their goals.

Clients are asked to keep a food diary for a week, recording everything they eat and how they feel in the hours after the meal.Using this information, strengths and weaknesses of the diet can be identified in terms of fluid intake, vitamins, minerals, fruit and vegetable intake, sources of carbohydrates, protein, fats and fibre, eating habits, energy levels and emotional reactions.

The client’s medical history, lifestyle, habits and routines are discussed and the client is encouraged to set realistic goals which are likely to be achievable over an agreed period of time. Recommendation and guidance are given relating to which foods in the diet to increase or decrease. Meal plans and recipes for healthy and nutritious dishes are also provided.
